All CMMs have both point-to-point mode as well as continuous measurements with contact sensors and lasers. From small portable systems to large Gantry CMMs, Burton Precision can accomodate you.Adding a Laser to your CMM is something to consider. The first laser scanner interfaced on CMM, in the early 1990s was a Kreon Scanner. Since then, KREON became a specialist of machine retrofits and integrations. In the past, Kreon developed a trajectory editor, which permitted to directly operate the machine in scanning mode. Since then, Kreon opted for partnerships with software editors and particularly measuring software.

Venture QC3This is a manually operated 3D visionsystem designed for the shop floor. The fully integrated QC300 measuring system has a colour touch screen so there is no need for a mouse or keyboard to clutter the workstation. Full geometric functionality is included so features like circles, lines arcs andpoints can be measured using dedicated tools. Data points are automatically taken along the edge of the feature using video edge detection, then all measurements are automatically saved in the on-screen features list. Advanced Alignments
Advanced Alignments: CappsNC now allows the advanced alignments utilized by CMM operators using our CAPPS DMIS products to be used to set work offsets within machine tools. Users taking advantage of these alignments with our work offset option are no longer restricted to using standard macros, or indicators to identify only the most basic geometry as coordinate locations for machining. Using CAPPSNC alignments users can use complex 3D features, intersections, tooling balls, and best fit alignments to pickup their work offsets. This allows for faster and more accurate part setup, saving time, improving the distribution of material removal and saving money!

5 Axis Auto Indexing
Customers using 5-Axis machining centers are now able to automatically index the probe head based upon the feature to be measured. For use For users in mold and die manufacturing we are finding the most prevalent use of CAPPS NC is to provide a sanity check usually around 20-30 points. These 20-30 points allow machinists to gain a base level of confidence that the part is good prior to removing the part from the machine and taking it to the CMM.
