WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO

OGP (Optical Gaging Products) is a division of Quality Vision International Inc (QVI®), a world-leading manufacturer of precision multisensor metrology systems for industrial quality control.  Our metrology systems focus on measurement technologies that help manufacturers monitor dimensional compliance to design specifications.

First introduced in 1992, our famous OGP SmartScope® product family has become one of the world’s most popular and versatile dimensional measurement systems. SmartScope systems are designed and produced at QVI corporate headquarters in Rochester, NY, USA.

Today, OGP offerings have expanded to include shaft measurement systems and a line of innovative multisensor CMMs. OGP products also include 3D scanning systems and measuring systems with unique capabilities to support high volume production.

Our customers include automotive, aerospace, ceramics, electronics, semiconductors, plastics, biomedical device manufacturers and metalworking industries, among others. These manufacturers rely on OGP measurement systems as integral parts of their manufacturing processes.

SmartScope E7

SmartScope E7 sets the standard
for 3-axis video measurement performance. The fixed lens IntelliCentric optical system with 6-megapixel color camera and digital zoom provide a high resolution image engineered for video edge detection metrology.

SmartScope E7 also offers:

• Advanced Lighting – All LED coaxial, substage profile, and SmartRing ring light illumination comes standard

• Sturdy, Stable Construction – A heavy-duty cast base and integral compound stage with Y-axis center drive provides stability.

• Multisensor Versatility – Optional touch probe.

Automatic Part Recognition

SNAP systems are easy-to-use, digital measuring devices with one-button operation. Their large fields of view (LFOV) allow measurement of entire parts.

Standard features of all SNAPs:

  • Designed to measure small, intricate parts right on the manufacturing floor

SHAPEGRABBER

AUTOMATED 3D SCANNING SYSTEMS

ShapeGrabber 3D Laser Scanning systems deliver fast, accurate and automated 3D measurement. The ShapeGrabber is ideal for measuring complex shapes such as molded plastics, castings, stampings, and machined parts and that are time-consuming, costly, and difficult to measure. Using multiple motion axes, ShapeGrabber laser scanners eliminate the need for software alignment and registration and ensure fast, accurate results.

ShapeGrabber automated scanners are well suited for situations in which speed and ease of use are important. These systems scan parts in a wide variety of materials, colors, and finishes and excel in rapid prototyping, manufacturing, quality control, and reverse engineering applications.

All ShapeGrabber 3D Laser Scanning systems share the ability to produce detailed surface characterizations of complex parts, quickly, and accurately. They are all easily programmed for repetitive part measurements, with no need for software alignment and registration. All ShapeGrabber systems collect accurate, high density point data, and provide reports of results, including GD&T.

Multi-Sensor CMM

A NEW GENERATION OF LARGE FORMAT MULTISENSOR CMMS

FlexPoint™ is the new generation of multisensor coordinate measuring machines from OGP®. FlexPoint offers a unique combination of sensors, and CAD based programming, to solve a wide variety of dimensional measurement problems.

FlexPoint systems are available in sizes from 7.7.6 to 12.30.10 and feature VersaFlex – the patented sensor array offering up to three simultaneously available sensors on an articulating head. Measure parts with trusted scanning probe, telecentric optics, and 1 μm accuracy TeleStar interferometric laser – without the downtime of exchanging sensors and constantly recalibrating.

Having all sensors available for immediate use eliminates the need for time consuming tool changes. CAD programmable articulation of the VersaFlex™ creates optimum positioning and alignment of all sensors.

TURNCHECK 
 

TurnCheck™  systems are precision optical shaft measuring instruments designed for shop floor environments. Rugged and reliable, TurnCheck accommodates parts up to 300 mm in length. TurnCheck Series-6 systems include:

  • Completely telecentric, large field of view optical system

  • Fast, easy measurements of all critical dimensions of turned parts, from simple lengths and diameters to advanced profile fitting and form

  • Optional ±12.5° of motorized helix angle adjustment for correct thread form measurements

TurnCheck system software offers advanced image analysis technology for high speed optical measurement. Automatic feature extraction immediately finds and measures all part features in a single scan. TurnCheck offers fast and precise measurement of known and unknown parts without programming or a CAD model. TurnCheck offers integral GD&T and best-fitting, and can output all point data for external analysis or reverse engineering.

The movable tailstock assembly is designed to be easily operated with one hand for precision mechanical alignment of the workpiece. Additional optional workholding kits that fit into the spindle accommodate workpieces that do not have centers.
